Meghan Crook Memorial Scholarship Fund
Are you a youth with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel York who is applying for post-secondary education for September 2022?
New this year is the opportunity to apply for the Meghan Crook Memorial Scholarship Fund. Meghan was a former Little Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel and was a dedicated volunteer and advocate of mentoring with our agency. Meghan, who was also a York Regional Police Officer, tragically passed away as the result of a snowmobile accident in February 2021 at the age of 31. This scholarship honours Meghan and hopes to create a legacy in her name that will encourage students of all ages and backgrounds to reach their full potential.
There will be (2) scholarships awarded in the amount of $5,000. One to a youth residing in Peel Region and the other to a youth residing in York Region. The scholarship will be awarded for the first year of post-secondary education only. Please contact your caseworker to receive an application form. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2022.
